The number one pickup opportunity in the country for Secretary of State offices in the 2020 campaign cycle seeks a Finance Director. This will be Oregon's most competitive statewide race.
Responsibilities
Management
- Work closely with the campaign manager, candidate, and partners to develop and manage an aggressive statewide finance department
- Principally responsible for managing projections, weekly reporting, events and call time
- Oversee a robust call time program, including donor and data management
- Manage a team of finance assistants and other junior staff
- Serve as the primary liaison for Compliance and Digital Consultants, including paid acquisition, email and online fundraising programs
- Develop and manage both high-dollar and grassroots events programs, leveraging local and national partnerships
- Maintain a strong rapport with the candidate, partners and stakeholders
Call Time
- Train and manage call time and donor research team
- Oversee the call time program, including training and managing the call room, donor research, follow-up, pledge tracking, and database management
- Staff call time as needed
- Oversee call time staff for nightly reporting
Events
- Build and develop host committees, relationships with stakeholders, donors, and surrogates
- Oversee the calendaring, host committee development, and sequence of statewide events plan
Qualifications
- At least one cycle of Finance Director experience or multiple cycles in a Call Time Manager or finance staff role
- Deep understanding of campaign finance tools including NGP, ActBlue and Excel
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- Experience with call a time-driven finance program a plus
- Experience managing staff a plus
- Experience running a dialer and double dialing a plus
The salary range for this position is $4,500–$6,000 per month with health care benefits. Employees can enroll in a healthcare plan paid for by the campaign or be reimbursed for current coverage.
