Mobilization Director
The Organization
This position is as the mobilization director with the New York State Democratic Party in NY-24.
The Race
Dana Balter is a progressive educator and organizer running to be the first woman to represent New York's 24th district in Congress. The DCCC has designated this one of Democrats' top 'Red-to-Blue' opportunities to expand our House majority. The district is in upstate New York and the largest city is Syracuse. Dana has been endorsed by EMILY's List, Planned Parenthood, Indivisible, End Citizens United, the Working Families Party, the PCCC, Democracy for America, and the Congressional Progressive Caucus who are all targeting this as a top-priority race in 2020. Dana ran a strong grassroots campaign as the Democratic nominee in 2018, closing a 20 point gap and now just needs to move 2.5 points to flip the seat this November.
Job Description
The Mobilization Director's job will include writing digital voter contact scripts, designing digital organizing programs and management corresponding data, working with the organizing director on voter contact sequencing, trouble-shooting digital platforms with organizers and volunteers, operationalizing the campaign phone dialer, and implementing virtual organizing platforms.
Reports To: Organizing Director
Ideal Experience and Characteristics
At least 1 full election cycle of digital and/or organizing experience.
Strong grasp of political organizing tools and tactics.
Experience recruiting, training and managing volunteers.
Experience managing and/or using texting, digital, or data programs on electoral campaigns is preferred.
Genuine passion about progressive politics and fighting for a better future for everyone.
A hard-working, honest, and self-disciplined leader with the ability to work long hours.
Ability to contribute to a positive, collaborative, safe, welcoming, and inspiring work environment for all members of the team—including fellow staff, volunteers, and interns.
Ability to organize in diverse communities, including Black, immigrant, refugee, & LGBTQ communities.
A car or reliable form of transportation and a laptop are required.
