Mondaire Jones is the Democratic nominee in New York's 17th Congressional District. He has been endorsed by AOC, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders and will make history as the first openly gay, black member of Congress in U.S. history.
The Mondaire for Congress campaign is seeking a campaign manager with a strong fundraising background. This is a safely blue seat in the New York City suburbs and the ideal candidate will be willing to stay on past November to serve as Mondaire's finance & political director when he is a member of Congress. The ideal candidate will also have strong progressive values.
Responsbilities
- Build and execute a campaign fundraising plan for both the general election and beyond.
- Work with call time manager and fundraising consultant to identify donors, plan fundraising events, manage PAC & member money, etc.
- Manage political relationships both locally and nationally with elected officials, members of Congress & their staffs, endorsing organizations, etc.
- Oversee team of direct mail, TV, and digital consultants and plan paid media strategy for general election.
- Manage internal staff fundraising, press, and organizing staff.
- Handle all campaign operations including budget, accounting, etc. Work with compliance consultant to ensure that all FEC regulations are adhered to.
Qualifications
- 2-3 cycles of campaign experience, some fundraising experience is a must
- Familiarity with ActBlue, NGP, Action Network, and other campaign software/tools
- Experience managing staff
- Experience working with a principal
- Located in the Greater New York City area or willing to relocate once it is safe to due to so (all staff is working remotely during COVID-19 pandemic)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must
- Willingness to serve in the role in a longer term capacity beyond the November election
- Hard-working, ability to adapt in dynamic environment
