JOB TITLE: Engagement Organizer
REPORTS TO: Engagement Director
FUNCTION: The primary functions of a field organizer are direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and volunteer management.
About Kate Bolz: Kate is a 6th generation Nebraskan who grew up on her family farm near Palmyra, just southeast of Lincoln. Since 2013, Senator Kate Bolz has represented District 29 in the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature. Senator Bolz is running to make healthcare affordable for all Nebraskans, to lower prescription drug prices, and to protect the rural economy in Nebraska.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit, identify, and train volunteers to enact voter contact efforts
Manage, train, and recruit a group of interns and volunteers to help meet voter contact goals
Appropriately build up volunteer leaders and train them to operate semi-autonomous segments of the engagement program
Oversee an aggressive direct voter contact program in an assigned region of the district, utilizing a wide array of digital and community organizing tactics
Work with other members of the engagement team to meet daily, weekly, and monthly volunteer recruitment and voter contact goals
Implement strategies to ensure data collection is accurate and timely
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with long hours
Represent the Kate Bolz Campaign to local political organizations and county parties
Help to plan, recruit, and staff campaign events
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience on a campaign or with Votebuilder/VAN is a plus, but not required
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to voters and volunteers from diverse backgrounds. Position will require spending a large portion of working days to be spent interacting with volunteers and/or voters
Good discretion and trustworthiness with critical campaign communications.
Ability to be a team player with both other campaign staffers and allied organizations.
Self-starter who shows strong initiative and sets high standards for individual and team performance
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; a proven ability to effectively and independently manage projects with many moving parts to produce high-quality results on tight deadlines in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
An ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment and to work long hours, including weekends.
Ability to relocate to Lincoln, NE if you aren't already located in the district
A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
COMPENSATION:
Field and Engagement Organizers are paid at an annual rate of $30,000, or $2,500 a month.
