Compensation: $750/week & $1000 win bonus

Marcus Goodwin, a DC native with strong community ties, is running for an open at-large DC Council seat. Marcus is competing in a crowded field and running to ensure we have a more equitable approach to education, housing, economics, health care, and food access.

We are seeking a Field Director to recruit, train, and manage volunteers as well as organize grassroots events to build Marcus's name recognition in the community. This role will be responsible for building the team's volunteer capacity, overseeing direct voter outreach programs such as phone banking and peer-to-peer texting, organizing virtual campaign events, and executing the logistics of our GOTV program.
Location: Washington, DC
Timeline: Immediate hire, full time through November 10th, 2020
Reports To: Campaign Manager
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to run multiple weekly voter engagement events
- Leverage our campaign's existing network to rapidly expand volunteer capacity
- Work with the Campaign Manager to ensure campaign field goals are met\
- Create and update volunteer support materials
- Oversee local organizing committees and train committee leaders to increase their local teams
- Organize and manage PTP text campaigns
- Help Coordinate GOTV program and poll coverage plan for election day
- Serve as the point of contact for volunteers
- Other responsibilities as they arise
Qualifications:
- A strong commitment to equity and economic justice as well as the desire to see a new diverse generation of leadership elected to lawmaking positions.
- At least one cycle of electoral organizing experience required. Demonstrated ability to build volunteer networks is a must.
- Understanding and strong working knowledge of NGP VAN (Votebuilder)
- Experience executing direct voter contact program
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, manage, and grow volunteer teams
- A proactive problem solver with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work long hours, including nights and weekends
- a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
- Preferred but not required, understanding of the DC local political landscape and ties to the DC community
