Chukundi Salisbury Campaign Manager Job Description
Chukundi Salisbury's campaign is looking for a campaign manager to lead it in the general election. This campaign is a community focused progressive campaign in Seattle that seeks to win a very contested election in Seattle, WA. We are looking for someone that is an energetic self-starter, good at multitasking and forecasting what needs to be done in the short and long term. The Campaign Manager will work very closely with the candidate and will be responsible for oversight of a broad range of campaign functions and coordinating volunteers to do those functions. Electoral campaigns like this are fast paced and ever changing. A campaign manager needs to be adaptable to the ever changing landscape this job will encounter.
Location: Manager needs to work at candidate's on-site Seattle office 3-5 days per week. Off site work can be arranged depending on the task and contingent upon Covid-19 circumstances. Office space and parking provided.
Hours: Manager is expected to work in the presence or communication of the candidate and supporters at least 40 hours a week (COVID-19 distancing respected).
Job Period: Immediately upon offer until a week after the General Election of November 3rd.
Presentation: Manager is expected to dress business casual when engaging with the public or as appropriate for a given event.
Salary: Commensurate with experience, starting at $4000/month – win bonus will be extended
Tasks and Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the campaign. Work with the candidate, campaign consultants, Washington State House of Representative Democratic Campaign Committee (HDCC), Washington State Democrats, and local Democratic Party's including but not limited to:
Help establish and provide oversight and management of Regional Co-Managers (teams) located in 3-6 regions of LD37 who will have specific volunteer jobs to assign in those areas.
Manage candidate's daily schedule/calendar
Identify upcoming community events and speaking or engagement opportunities. Calendar these and assist in their execution
Outreach to and communicate with local media outlets on a consistent basis.
Delegate and/or oversea social media: Facebook, Twitter, and website.
Work closely with the candidate and general consultant to update the Endorsement Tracker and MS
Prepare and manage outreach to potential union and affiliate endorsers
Assist candidate with thank you correspondence to supporters.
Assist the candidate with strategic decisions, issues, bills, and opponent research, and possibly with speech preparedness.
Writing communication correspondence for campaign literature, ads, and press releases.
Order and/or purchase office and/or event supplies (on campaign credit card, cash or get reimbursed)
Write and develop drafts of questionnaires for the candidate and assist with creating copy for the campaign website.
Communicate messages about ads to consultant
Assist the field director in messaging supporters and volunteers to get people to events, photoshoots, etc.
Qualifications:
At least 1 cycle of campaign experience and managing staff.
Access to reliable transportation will be required
Ability to work independently
