Digital Ads Strategist:
The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic Governors, is seeking to fill the Digital Ads Strategist position within the Digital Department for the 2021-2022 election cycles. This individual will report to the Digital Director and work with agency partners to continue the development of the DGA's record-breaking and rapidly growing digital fundraising operation. This will include optimizing ad content, exploring new channels and strategies for list growth, analyzing the performance of ad content and list acquisition over time, and actively monitoring the latest trends and opportunities that could advance the DGA's overall fundraising program.

Responsibilities
- Working with the Digital Director, Digital Fundraising Director, and agency partners to develop and execute a comprehensive digital advertising strategy to sustain the continued growth of the DGA's digital fundraising program;
- Working with a team of in-house and agency creatives to create high performing digital ad content across a wide variety of ad platforms, including Facebook, Youtube, display, etc;
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the DGA's ads and acquisition strategies in order to identify both short- and long-term opportunities for optimization;
- Identify opportunities to test new ad tracks and channels, and work with the Creative Team to design ad creative focused on acquiring new supporters of and donors to the DGA's mission;
- Working with agency partners to identify and execute larger acquisitions;
- Loading content, creative assets, and targeting into major online ad platforms;
- Work with agency partners to provide regular reports on ad program performance;
- Support other special projects, assignments, and tasks in collaboration with DGA leadership and other DGA departments.
Qualifications
- Experience working on successful, large-scale, online fundraising operations for Democratic political campaigns, political committees, and/or like-minded organizations;
- Experience with and deep understanding of a variety of ad platforms, channels, and tools, especially in the context of acquisition-focused campaigns;
- Have a strong awareness of digital advertising trends and acquisition opportunities;
- Have the ability to recognize a meaningful news story and then leverage it to quickly execute effective and compelling ad campaigns and content;
- Strong organizational skills, attention to consistency/detail, and written and verbal communications skills;
- Proven familiarity with political and digital best practices;
- Proven ability to manage and drive engagement for social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others;
- Experience writing for direct response, including email, ad writing, and social media platforms;
- Experience creating and reviewing timely and inspiring digital content such as websites, images, video, etc.;
- Familiarity with tracking performance and analytics for optimizing and reporting.

Digital Campaign Services Director:
The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic Governors, is seeking to fill the Digital Campaign Services Director position within the Political Department for the 2021-2022 election cycle. This position will report jointly to the Political Director and the Digital Director and will work collaboratively with the Senior Campaign Advisors and Candidate Services Desks to help gubernatorial campaigns improve their own digital programs comprehensively – including but not limited to advising on email fundraising, email acquisition, SMS, social media and other content creation, digital persuasion, and digital staffing.
Candidates who are comfortable handling the following responsibilities are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Work with Campaign Managers and teams surrounding campaigns launches to have complete digital infrastructure in place; help with initial digital planning, hiring of digital campaign leadership, and evaluating agency partners;
- Work with campaign teams to identify digital staffing needs and evaluate unique variables in each race to determine the best digital staffing structure, and source strong resumes to help campaigns hire the most talented digital staffers;
- Serve as a resource for campaigns using digital expertise and knowledge of best practices to maximize their digital goals, analyze strengths vs. opportunities, and refine their decision making;
- Help Digital Directors structure their programs — hiring staff and building capacity, identifying appropriate tools, diagnosing problems, helping solve operational and personnel issues;
- Work with Digital Directors to create, implement, and refine overall digital plans — including online fundraising, content, digital advertising, and organizing;
- Identify and share best practices and common pitfalls across different campaigns;
- Work with the DGA's communications, research, and content teams to evaluate when digital assets and tools are best used to deliver messaging; help project manage content for campaigns from ideation to execution;
- Interface with Campaign Managers as they manage their Digital Directors and work to raise as much money online as possible, helping managers ask the right questions, and ensuring Digital Directors and agency partners are sharing the right information, challenges, and opportunities with their managers;
- Collaborate with Digital Directors and/or agency partners on appropriate goals and projections, making sure digital cashflow projections are accurate; ensure Campaign Managers and Senior Campaign Advisors are up to date, aware of any issues, and are briefed on potential solutions;
- Create high-quality work product for campaigns including content and email as those needs arise;
- Assist the DGA's internal digital team with campaign-focused and overall fundraising projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Digital Director on statewide campaign;
- Experience working with candidates and elected officials at a high level;
- Understanding of how gubernatorial races differ from federal races, and the challenges and opportunities this presents;
- Expertise creating, developing, and reviewing digital fundraising plans and projections;
- History of running large-scale, successful campaign digital programs with a focus on online fundraising and including experience with digital organizing, content management, and digital advertising for both acquisition and persuasion.

- Ability to communicate effectively with campaign managers and candidates on digital needs, advocate effectively for the importance of digital priorities, and illustrate the benefits of digital requests for campaigns' success;

Digital Content Director:
The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic Governors, is seeking to fill the Digital Content Director position within the Digital Department for the 2021-2022 election cycle. The position will report to the Digital Director.
The Digital Content Director will be responsible for creating and executing content strategy — in particular, but not limited to social platforms and website content — for the DGA's core brand properties, support for Democratic Gubernatorial campaigns, coordinated efforts with campaigns. This will include managing a team of creative producers and collaboration with other members of the DGA Digital Department, the wider DGA team, as well as partner campaigns and organizations.

Responsibilities
- Working with the Digital Director and other senior team members to develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy to build on the DGA's brand, expand its reach, and raise the organization's profile;
- Leading a team of in-house creatives and working with digital writers and communications staff to produce compelling written, visual, and video content to support the DGA and campaigns and hold Republican Governors and candidates accountable;
- Managing the DGA's social media properties, including exploring and creating new opportunities for valuable engagement that drives immediate and long-term action;
- Manage content for the DGA's existing web properties and content production for future DGA web projects, including copy and on-site creative, in addition to SEO and social meta properties;
- Providing guidance and advice to incumbent Democratic Governors and Democratic Gubernatorial campaigns on creative digital programming;
- Work heavily with the DGA's Communication department to strategize how best to use digital assets to further the DGA and reinforce campaign messages in gubernatorial races;
- Support other special projects, assignments, and tasks in collaboration with DGA leadership and other DGA departments.
Qualifications
- Experience working on successful, large-scale, online fundraising operations for Democratic political campaigns, political committees, and/or like-minded organizations;
- Experience working with or managing a team of creative producers to produce engaging graphics and video, often for rapid response timelines, which includes drafting storyboards and/or scripts (direct experience with Adobe suite products is a plus, but not a requirement);
- Proven ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines and successfully project manage creative work from start to finish on schedule;
- Proven ability to manage and drive engagement for social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others;
- Experience writing for direct response, including email, ad writing, and social media platforms;
- Familiarity with tracking performance and analytics for optimizing and reporting;

Digital Strategist or Senior Digital Strategist:
The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic Governors, is seeking to fill the Digital Strategist or Senior Digital Strategist role within the Digital Department for the 2021-2022 election cycle. The position will report to the Digital Fundraising Director. The Digital Department is responsible for the DGA grassroots fundraising program, creating all digital content in support of Democratic Governors and Democratic Gubernatorial campaigns, and coordinates with campaigns to enhance their digital communications while also providing support to other departments within DGA.
Candidates who are comfortable handling the following responsibilities and have the appropriate skillsets at the mid-level are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Execution of the DGA grassroots fundraising program by means of email, social media, online advertising, direct mail, telemarketing, SMS and other channels;
- Write compelling copy for fundraising and engagement emails, online advertising, social media, and direct mail;
- Produce, checklist, and send email copy in our CRM, ensuring it is accurate and segmented correctly;
- Brainstorm innovative testing ideas and help build our testing plan to optimize our email program;
- Monitor all digital communications of Democratic governors, candidates, and their Republican opponents;
- Support other special projects, assignments, and tasks in collaboration with DGA leadership and other DGA departments.
Qualifications
- Experience working as a part of successful, large-scale, online fundraising operations for Democratic political campaigns, political committees, and/or like-minded organizations;
- Senior Digital Strategist candidates should have program management experience related to the below areas, and 2+ cycles of work experience;
- Experience writing email copy for a high-volume program, including rapid response; for Senior Digital Strategist, experience managing an email calendar and designing messaging strategy;
- Experience writing for a large-scale broadcast and/or P2P SMS program is a plus;
- Experience producing emails, including segmenting and testing, in a CRM such as BSD or NGP;
