Development Director
Summary: The Committee to Protect Medicare is a 501c4 advocacy organization that seeks universal, quality health care for all Americans. Led by frontline physicians and medical workers, the Committee effects change in health care public policy through physician organizing, paid media, and earned media strategies. After a period of significant organizational growth, the Committee to Protect Medicare seeks to build a development staff that can chart a path toward further growth for the organization, with the goal of achieving long lasting health care change at the federal and state levels. Position applicants should have a strong desire to pass health care reform in America.
Position Toplines:
Title: Development Director
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Salary Range: $55,000 – $84,000 (dependent upon experience)
Health Care: Yes
Location: Remote; Applicants from Chicago or The District of Columbia strongly encouraged to apply, as many staff members reside in both
Start Date: Flexible, Schedule: Flexible
Must Haves:
Demonstrable experience raising money
Attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced political environment
Basic Excel and data skills
1-2 years / cycles of experience in fundraising / finance / campaign management for political campaigns or non-profits.
A commitment to health care policy outcomes and a positive, inclusive work culture
Nice to Haves:
Ability to write a finance and development plan from scratch
Working knowledge of rules and regulations with 501c3s, 501c4s, and Political Action Committees
A bachelor's degree
3-4 years / cycles experience in fundraising / finance for political campaigns or non-profits
Working knowledge of development databases
Social marketing experience and skills
