Job Posting: Vice President for Digital Strategy, 50+1 Strategies
50+1 Strategies is looking to hire a Vice President for Digital Strategy to lead our growing digital team as we work on local, statewide, and national progressive campaigns and causes. Annual compensation for this role is between $110,000 and $135,000, commensurate with experience.
The Vice President for Digital Strategy will lead our clients in all of their digital needs, with a heavy emphasis on strategy, management, and execution behind digital advertising, email, and digital organizing programs, including media plans, email calendars, digital trainings, and strategic planning. This role is ideal for someone looking to move the needle on our country's biggest challenges by leveraging digital strategy. Requirements
6+ years experience in digital strategy and digital campaigns, with ideally two cycles of experience leading digital campaigns for a progressive candidate or cause
Experience managing staff and interns in order to create teams that respect, empower, and include each other and the audience you're seeking to engage
Experience as a consultant or similar role, working with clients and stakeholders to lead meetings, communicate, agree upon, and meet deliverables on deadlines
A passion for teaching, professional development, and investing in the next generation of political organizers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable switching between strategy, writing, project management, employee management and client communications in any given day
Strong understanding of the progressive digital landscape, including emerging trends across social, fundraising, organizing, and paid communications
Experience managing multi-million or six-figure digital advertising campaigns—a deep understanding of digital advertising platforms, costs, benchmarks, and strategies
Experience with the majority of commonly-used digital tools for email, volunteer recruitment, relational organizing, Peer to Peer SMS, digital advertising and organizing. EX: NGP/VAN, Mobilize, ThruText/Talk, Hustle, Mailchimp, ActionNetwork, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, Google AdWords, etc
Deep understanding of the importance of analytics in fueling all digital decision-making
Passion for progressive candidates and causes at the local, state, and national level
Digital advocacy experience (especially in a legislative context) is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
Lead our digital portfolio, serving as the chief strategist on all things digital
Building, coaching, and manage our badass digital team—delegating and assigning work as necessary
Managing client work and deliverables directly
Develop strategic visions for 50+1's digital team, our clients, and potential new business
Join 50+1's leadership team, steer the firm on digital best practices and emergent trends, and weigh in on all major decisions facing the firm
Pitch, recruit and retain new clients—developing proposals, pitch decks, scopes of work, and more as needed
Create strategic plans for clients as needed to win campaigns and meet digital goals, with a particular emphasis on digital organizing plans and trainings, digital advertising media plans, and
Manage top-level communication with multiple clients on a daily basis
Edit and approve multiple pieces of client-facing content per week, generate content as needed on a case-by-case basis
Generate weekly reports to clients using spreadsheets and qualitative data
Manage 50+1 digital fellows and staff
Train others on digital best practices - both internally and externally, by developing curriculum and delivering trainings virtually or in-person as COVID-19 safety allows
