Faith in New York (FINY) is a growing multifaith, multicultural, multilingual federation of over 70 congregations representing 80,000 families in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx. Faith in New York's mission is to develop grassroots leaders, build congregational justice teams, and equip congregations to move significant public policy change. Our leaders have a vision of an equitable New York with violence-free neighborhoods, access to good jobs, affordable housing for all, an end to mass incarceration, clean air and water, and a place where people of all backgrounds can fully participate in economic and civic life. Faith in New York works closely with allied organizations in both secular and religious organizations to build and strengthen the movement for racial and economic justice in New York and across the country.
DIRECTOR OF ORGANIZING POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Organizing will oversee Faith in New York's organizing and program areas, helping to develop campaigns and programs that advance the mission and priorities of FINY. This includes crafting organizing campaigns that increase organizational impact, expand our member base, and develop powerful leaders. The position reports directly to the Executive Director (ED), and is a member of the senior leadership team. The ideal candidate will be a skilled organizer and effective manager, with experience in strategic analysis, managing multiple programs, and movement building from a racial justice and faith lens. The salary range is 65K to 70K.
