Job Title: Latinx Coalitions Manager
Reports to: Coalitions Director
Hiring Range: $48,000 - $60,000/year, generous benefits package
Start date: As soon as possible
Location: Remote until further notice

About the Democratic Party of Wisconsin: The DPW is nationally recognized as one of the country's highest-performing and most pivotal political organizations. In the 2021-22 cycle, DPW will drive a massive program to re-elect Governor Tony Evers, defeat Ron Johnson in order to ensure a Democratic US Senate majority, elect candidates up and down the ballot in spring and fall elections alike, and advocate on policy issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute a WI Latinx/Hispanic coalition focused outreach plan, engaging Latinx/Hispanic community leaders in urban, and rural populations.
  • Work with the Coalitions Director to determine best practices in organizing specific communities across the state of Wisconsin.
  • Provide support for the Latinx/Hispanic Caucus and construct innovative opportunities to increase Latinx/Hispanic representation in the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.
  • Maintain and build organized lists of contacts at state and local level
  • Actively seek opportunities to include Latinx voices in DPW programming and local elected policy initiatives.
  • Host recurring meetings with Latinx/Hispanic community leaders across the state as well as local elected officials.
  • Provide context for memos and briefings for principals and high-level surrogates.
  • Additional tasks as instructed by the Coalitions Director..

Qualifications (Required):

  • Experience effectively building meaningful relationships with Elected officials, local influencers, government agencies, businesses, non-profits, or community organizations
  • Demonstrated record of working with Latinx/Hispanic community leaders to build power for Latinx citizens
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer service attitude, and ability to communicate with people from many backgrounds
  • Ability to manage details and stay on top of multiple tasks, large and small, at once
  • Growth Mindset - ability to take and implement feedback.
  • Relentlessly Goal Oriented - enjoys working toward and achieving ambitious goals. Keeps calm in stressful situations. Has the capacity and willingness to work long hours during peak season, rolling up their sleeves and getting the work done.
  • Cultural Competency - able to build relationships and collaborate with colleagues, voters, and volunteers who identify as POCI and across lines of difference.

Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Successful experience conducting outreach for a political campaign, government department, business, non-profit  or community organization.
  • Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel statewide
