The Digital Organizer position will be responsible for applying digital tools to engage, mobilize, and register Pennsylvania voters — with focus on working class Pennsylvanians in Black, Latino, and rural communities. This position will devise new opportunities to recruit volunteers, engage and register voters, and support grassroots partners, including county parties and activist organizations, in all their digital organizing needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
DIGITAL ORGANIZING
Collaborate with state party staff, grassroots partners, and stakeholders to develop volunteer "people-power"
Identify and implement new methods of growing the state party's volunteer community
Coordinate with the data team to ensure organizing efforts are supported by top-notch data.
Become an active and contributing member among Pennsylvania's activist community
PARTNER TRAINING, SUPPORT, AND QUALITY CONTROL
Develop digital resources, standards, and processes to ensure a high-quality experience for volunteers and stakeholders
Train staff and partners to use the Pennsylvania Democratic Party's digital organizing tools
Troubleshoot digital issues and questions escalated to the state party
Produce a monthly newsletter of guidance/events for county parties, organizing partners, and stakeholders
SPANISH-LANGUAGE ORGANIZING PROGRAM
Identify and implement new methods of mobilizing Spanish speaking communities, including Latino voters and volunteers
Develop programs and messaging strategies that speak to the need of Pennsylvania's Spanish speaking communities
Create an email, social media, and web content program which engages Spanish speaking voters and volunteers on a regular basis
Collaborate with Latino lawmakers, organizers, and other Spanish speaking activists across Pennsylvania
Skills & Qualifications:
1-3 years of campaign experience in a digital role or as a field organizer
An undergraduate degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, or a related field; or a combination of the equivalent professional and educational experience considered.
Bi-Lingual, with the ability to speak and write in Spanish
Demonstrable experience using digital organizing tools such as VoteBuilder, Mobilize, and ThruTalk/ThruText (or similar applications)
Exceptionally well organized with strong time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds
Flexible, adaptable and solutions-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure
Commitment to electing all Democrats on the ballot
Preferred (not required):
Pennsylvania ties preferred, but not required
Experience working with targeted constituency groups preferred, but not required
Location: Philadelphia or Harrisburg
*Due to steps to mitigate COVID-19, this position will be remote until at least April 1, 2021.
Annual Salary: $50,000-$60,000
The Digital Organizer will report to the Digital Director.
