The Impact Project

Now more than ever, states have a critical role to play in driving our country forward. The Impact Project (TIP) does this by advancing economic and democracy policies that improve the quality of life for working- and middle-class people. We are 100% focused at the state level and we currently work in AZ, CO, FL, GA, ME, MD, MI, MN, NM, NV, NC, PA, VA, and WI.

Policy Analyst Contract

We are looking to hire a Policy Analyst on contract to assist with policy development projects and supporting our state teams. The Policy Analyst would be responsible for the following projects:

-        Identify policy best practices and trends across states and share information among state directors.

-        Conduct policy analysis of existing policies and potential policy and statute changes, including reviewing and analyzing bill language.

-        Collaborate with TIP's communications team and produce policy materials that add value to current state efforts, including fact sheets, policy papers, and reports.

This contract position will bolster our capacity to create opportunities for policy wins and assist with defense in the areas of economic security (i.e., health care access and affordability, worker pay and benefits, education and tax fairness) and democracy (i.e., independent redistricting, voter access, judicial independence and money in politics reforms). They will report to the Policy Director. This work will entail 20-25 hours per week from February to August 2021. Hourly rate is variable ($25-40/hour) and is commensurate with experience.

●       Comfortable working in a rapid response environment.

●       Past experience working on health care access and affordability policy is a plus.

●       Strategic thinker who can quickly assess policy and translate policy to a campaign environment.

●       Ability to think 'outside the box' in coming up with new and different ways to tackle issues through policy solutions.

Location: Flexible – with a preference toward TIP states.
