The IEA is hiring a communications specialist based in Springfield, IL to join our staff. Primary responsibilities include providing graphic design, videography, video editing, photography and technology expertise to tell member stories. The starting salary range is $70,137.00 to $83,578.00. Deadline to apply is January 8.
The IEA is an association of more than 135,000 members composed of Illinois elementary and secondary teachers, higher education faculty and staff, educational support professionals, retired educators and college students preparing to become teachers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Designs membership promotion materials, as directed. Designs association materials and governance materials, as directed. Works with locals and the Government Relations Department on campaign- or project-related materials.
- Works with staff and locals to tell member stories, document projects and otherwise use video skills to better the image of the IEA, as directed.
- Utilizes the Communications Department MAC and PC platforms to design work.
- Shows proven expertise in using Adobe Creative Suite applications.
- Provides local and regional training as necessary.
- Stays abreast of emerging Web and print technologies.
- Monitors, studies and implements advancements in video technology, editing, production and publication.
Qualifications
- College degree.
- At least five years of significant graphic design and layout experience, photography, videography, video editing and video publishing.
- Proven expertise in using Adobe Creative Suite applications.
- Proven expertise in videography—from concept to finish.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies as they pertain to all aspects of video and graphic design.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Some training and presentation skills desirable.
Salary and benefits
- Salary range: $70,137.00 To $83,578.00 Annually
- In conformance with the IEA-NEA/IEASO Professional Staff Agreement.
