Basecamp Strategy is a fast-growing digital fundraising firm making a big impact in politics. We're digital storytellers who win tough races and elect incredible people by raising our clients as much money as possible online. Our core values as a company are doing good, enjoying the experience, and growing our strength as an organization so that our employees can live meaningful lives.
If you enjoy a fast-paced environment, doing tremendously good work efficiently, thinking outside the box, and figuring out how to go from great to incredibly great, you'll love it here.
We are looking to fill this role in Q1 of 2021. Please indicate in your application when you would be available to start. This is an excellent opportunity for a Call Time Manager or Finance Assistant looking for 2022 cycle work with an established DC firm or a new entrant into politics who is looking to make a maximum impact in 2021.
Our Client Managers play an integral role in our clients' fundraising success: they work daily to ensure digital content is promptly approved by clients while ensuring the strength of client relationships by consulting on digital strategy and participating in client strategy calls. Applicants must have a high degree of professionalism and the ability/desire to communicate with high-level officials and their teams.
Additionally, the Client Manager will:
Participate in internal strategy meetings related to client fundraising success
Learn the ins and outs of digital fundraising strategy for Democrats, including list growth, deliverability, and content strategy
Manage the logistics of sending copy to clients, ensuring copy is promptly approved and responding appropriately to client concerns and comments
Liaise between internal departments and clients to ensure client needs are balanced with operational efficiency
Navigate internal platforms and resources to ensure daily workflows are completed on time
Who you are:
You're brave and open to risk-taking: You're new to politics or you're done with politics-as-usual and are ready to join an innovative team that isn't afraid to ruffle feathers in the process of changing our politics, and our world, for the better.
You take your work seriously and believe you can have a meaningful impact on our country.
You're disaffected with the current balance of political power and want to redistribute it by empowering new voices.
You're excited to grow along with the company, to learn new skills quickly, and to move on to the next once you've mastered those.
Who we are:
We believe that people with good ideas CAN change the world when empowered with the right tools and expertise.
We motivate donors with honesty and authenticity, and we don't follow the traditional playbook. We're a team of specialists that's here to challenge assumptions and figure out what performs the best today, not what worked in 2014, 2016, 2018, or even 2020.
We are growing and evolving quickly as individuals and as a company. No one is doing the same job they were doing six months ago, three months, or even a month ago.
We want to bring new perspectives onto our team because we know that when more voices are at the table, bigger, better, and bolder things happen. In both hiring employees and recruiting clients, we approach every decision with a commitment to increasing diversity and inclusion both within our team and within the Democratic party at large. We recruit, employ, train, compensate, and promote regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, or higher-education status. Our Fellows and full-time employees are paid according to transparent salary tiers.
Final details:
This role will be remote for the time being, but our team remains a close-knit community.
The introductory salary at Basecamp is $50,000/year.
Additional benefits: Gold health care plan, as well as Dental and Vision plans available.
Other workplace features: WOO! Fridays ("Work On Ourselves! Fridays" are devoted to professional development, R&R, and self-directed projects); frequent virtual hangouts with food/drinks reimbursed; and all the necessary work-from-home technology you'll need will be provided.
Application process: If you're ready to dive right in and help us exceed our clients' fundraising goals, please send an email with a one-page resume and a statement of 100 words or fewer on what previous experience has prepared you for this role to jobs@basecampstrategy.com. Please indicate in your application when you would be available to start and where you heard about this position.
Please use the subject line "[Firstname Lastname] - Basecamp Strategy Client Manager".
