314 Action is a grassroots community of over 5 million people working to elect scientists who will use science and facts to address some of our most pressing issues like climate change and health care.
In 2020, we helped flip U.S. Senate seats in Arizona and Colorado by drafting Capt. Mark Kelly and former Gov. John Hickenlooper to successfully run for office. After raising more than $22 million in grassroots donations, 314 Action helped elect nearly 20 scientists at the federal level and over 100 scientists at the state and local levels. Of these scientists, 57% were women, 23% were candidates of color, and 24% were first-time candidates for public office.
314 Action and its mission to elect scientists at all levels of government have been featured in pieces by numerous news outlets, including NBC News, CNN, Bloomberg, Newsweek, The Hill, and Huffington Post.
We will leverage our grassroots network of nearly 1.5 million scientists and STEM advocates on behalf of our campaigns while providing strategic and other support. 314 Action is currently seeking experienced Campaign Managers willing to work with great candidates all across the country.
Duties
· Hire and manage a professional campaign staff
· Develop and manage a campaign budget and handle cash flow in coordination with your Finance Director
· Oversee all aspects of the campaign and building a campaign plan including fundraising, field, communications, and political outreach while ensuring that proper goals are set and achieved
· Manage a team of consultants
· Set priorities in the campaign schedule
· Develop a press and earned media plan, send press releases and develop relationships with local and national reporters
· Candidate staffing
· Manage relationships with key campaign stakeholders
· Managing staff and interns as the campaign grows
Qualifications
· Candidates should have multiple cycles of experience on a campaign and at least one cycle in a Director role, with experience as a Campaign Manager at any level preferred
· Candidates should have a car
· Be willing to work long/irregular hours including nights and weekends
Salaries are commensurate with experience and generally range from $5000-$8000 per month.
