Development Manager at Project Equity (Worker Cooperative Development)

Development Manager
Project Equity
Permanently remote
Preferred locations for relationship-building: NYC, Bay Area, Los Angeles.

About the role: This is a non-campaign role at an ambitious and growing non-profit organization (now a team of 20) working nationally to lift up employee ownership and worker cooperative business models, creating economic democracy and targeting low-income workers. The work is primarily grant writing and foundation cultivation, with lesser responsibilities in individual and corporate fundraising and reporting/communications. Permanently remote, preferred locations: NYC, Bay Area, Los Angeles.

About Project Equity: Our mission is to foster economic resiliency with low-income communities by demonstrating and replicating strategies that increase worker ownership. We raise awareness of employee ownership as a business succession strategy, conduct business outreach and education, and provide direct support for business owners and employees to transition to employee ownership. Our clients are unique local businesses (most with 25-50 employees, but increasingly larger companies as well) that are assessing or implementing transitions to broad-based employee ownership (e.g. worker cooperatives, democratic ESOPs or other forms of employee or stakeholder ownership). Project Equity is currently expanding into multiple regions around the country.
