NYC Council Field Organizer

Hello! The Maria Ordoñez campaign, a progressive campaign for City Council, based in the Upper West Side, West Harlem, and Washington Heights, is looking for a part time field organizer. 

Description:

The Field Organizer will work alongside our team to train and organize volunteers, knock on doors (while following COVID-19 safety precautions), and distribute flyers in the streets with us. They must be a team player, have good interpersonal skills, be willing to travel to the district for meetings, canvassing, and be available throughout the day (including afternoons and evenings).


Compensation: $15 per hour


Responsibilities Include:

  • Work alongside the campaign to train and organize volunteers
  • Door Knock (while following COVID-19 safety precautions)
  • Distribute flyers in the streets with the team
  • Must be able to travel to the district for campaign activities
  • Contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment

Qualifications:

  • Have a passion for progressive politics, electing more women into office, and building grassroots movements.
  • Ability to work with and communicate with a diverse range of people on our team and in our district
  • Spanish speakers preferred
