The Center for Popular Democracy/CPD Action is seeking a Development Associate.

The Center for Popular Democracy and CPD Action (together, CPD/A) work to promote equity, opportunity, and a dynamic democracy in partnership with innovative base-building organizations, organizing networks and alliances, and progressive unions across the country. We currently work with more than 53 affiliates in 34 states and Puerto Rico, and build the strength and capacity of democratic organizations to envision and advance a pro-worker, pro-immigrant, racial and economic justice agenda. About the Position:
We are seeking a Development Associate, who will serve as an essential member of CPD/A's Development team. This position will provide logistical and administrative support to the Development department, with a focus on timely and accurate recording, processing, and acknowledgement of donations. The Development Associate will also help plan and execute fundraising efforts.
This position will report to the Director of Development.
Primary Responsibilities
The Development Associate will:
Manage data entry for CPD/A and fiscally-sponsored organizations, including donor contact information, notes, actions, and gifts.
Produce weekly reports to track revenue, open pledges, and grant receivables.
Be a first point of contact for all donor inquiries, which includes responding to daily calls and emails and connecting with the appropriate staff member as needed.
Lead donor recognition program for all CPD/A donations.
Work with the Development team to plan and implement fundraising activities.
Assist with research on current and prospective donors, as well as proofreading grant proposals, reports, and other communications.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
1-3 years of fundraising and/or event experience;
Ability to navigate conflicting priorities and manage deadlines;
Familiarity with with GSuite, Microsoft Office, CRM/donor database management (ideally Salesforce);
Experience with nonprofit 501(c)(3) compliance and donor privacy policies;
A clear understanding of the relationship between confidential information and building donor trust through transparency and accountability;
Demonstrated commitment to social, racial, and economic justice.
Salary and Benefits:
This is a union position. Salary will be determined according to a salary scale which takes into account years' experience, location, job category, and other factors, but is expected to be $58,500-$65,500 and Category 1. The Collective Bargaining Agreement is available here.
We have a generous benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 15 vacation days per year, 10 sick days per year, 13 paid holidays per year, and contributions to individuals' 401K plans.
