Talbot Digital, a progressive digital communications firm in Washington, DC, is looking for a full-time digital strategist to join our growing team. We are a media and communications firm with expertise in politics and public affairs. We work with Democratic campaigns, advocacy organizations, national non-profits, international political parties, Fortune 500 companies, and the federal government. ABOUT YOU
- You love to discover new social media platforms and vehicles for creative messaging
- You know how to dig into the analytics and interpret the for the non-numbers people, providing actionable insights
- You understand how and why people interact through social media and you know how to leverage that knowledge
- You're a message maven who can write for traditional and digital media channels – blog posts, social content, press releases, client quotes, and speeches
- You know how to stay cool if a client is having an issue, and you know how to fix things: you're a problem-solver with client-facing skills
- You play well with others, from our internal team to clients and their consultants, from contracted designers to online ads vendors
- You're connected, and you know how to leverage your network through digital channels
- You are fascinated by the intersection of politics and technology, and you want to keep learning in your job
RESPONSIBILITIES
The digital strategist will be responsible for the following:
- Managing client relationships and delivering day-to-day work on deadline
- Crafting and implementing strategic social media and traditional communications campaigns
- Drafting blog posts, website content, memos, issue papers, and speeches
- Project managing and overseeing website builds and redesigns, app development, and design elements
- Preparing traffic analysis and ROI measurement reports for clients
- Developing new relationships and sourcing new business in collaboration with the business principals
- Finding and delivering press opportunities for Talbot Digital and its clients
- Aiding in the internal processes of running the business and managing schedules
- Overseeing seasonal interns
REQUIREMENTS
All applicants should of course have strong communications skills and be detail-oriented. Preferred applicants will have the following experience:
- Bachelor's degree in political science, government relations, marketing, communications, public relations, or business
- 5 years+ of professional experience with account and project management
- Website/CMS management (WordPress preferred)
- CRM Toolsets such as BSD Tools, Salsa, NationBuilder
- Content marketing and SEO experience
- Proven ability to manage and grow social media accounts both organically and through advertising
- Crafting strategic digital and traditional communications plans
- Managing digital media marketing initiatives (such as advertising, email, and social media campaigns)
- Designing and coding digital graphics for websites and online advertising
- Analyzing online traffic
- Traditional communications and press work
- Scheduling Experience
