General Duties:
Develops, implements, and oversees College-wide marketing plans to achieve institutional goals.
- Designs and executes a comprehensive strategic plan for marketing, advertising and communications
- Develops overall advertising and media strategies to achieve image, awareness, enrollment, recruiting, and/or fundraising goals
- Provide professional and managerial oversight of a broad range of marketing programs and tools, including digital, print, mail, broadcast, social networking, and other media
- Manages and develops internal staff and external resources
- Develops and analyzes key metrics of marketing effectiveness, as well as budgets and costs related to marketing programs and campaigns
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Campus Specific Information:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Communications and Public Relations, the Communications and Marketing Director for Web Services will be responsible for directing electronic, online and multi-media communications, providing editorial, technical and production expertise.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Devise, implement, and enforce a long-term plan for Web site development and presence, including standards and guidelines for content, based on organizational goals and input from Executive Director.
- Ensure that the layout, positioning, navigation, and look and feel of web content are consistent across and throughout the organization.
- Identify, recommend, and prioritize new web features and applications in conjunction with administration and department managers.
- Foster strong relationships with the College community to promote the use of uniform fonts, formatting, icons, images, and layout, and create appropriate templates to assist content authors.
- Facilitate meetings with content creators from across the College.
- Oversight and analysis of tracking and evaluating new standards, technologies and trends in Web site development, design, and delivery.
- Lead and supervise professional web services staff
- Manage the planning, maintenance, and accessibility of website content in a way that ensures the consistency of Web site's look and feel.
- Ensure easy navigation for disabled students in compliance with Federal ADA requirements.
- Oversee support, training and service to users of the College's web services and applications.
- Optimize on-site content for maximum visibility and ranking in the major search engines; this includes HTML, site structure, as well as page layout and navigation considerations.
- Ensure that web pages and applications that run in conjunction with web pages operate smoothly and effectively.
- Ensure messaging on website and emergency and other notifications as required.
- Evening and weekend hours are required as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.

- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment while managing multiple, priority assignments.
- Outstanding creativity, attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
- Effective leadership abilities with experience successfully managing people.
- Demonstrated experience in project and/or operations management.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of team members.
- Demonstrated experience in digital communications platforms.
- Experience within the City University of New York preferred.
