Job Description:
Seeking an Outreach Director to implement and manage a targeted field outreach program to educate and build support for quality school choices for New Jersey families. The Outreach Director will build and manage the day to day operations of the organization's outreach campaign and help set and achieve campaign goals. He/she will be responsible for managing, supporting, and onboarding staff.

Oversees all community outreach efforts and is responsible for the success of all field tactics including canvassing, large and small events, and one-on-one meetings. They will also support the organization's president in building and maintaining relationships with local organizations and stakeholders. The Outreach Director will recruit, train, manage, and track all part time staff to ensure they are effectively reaching local families.
The candidate must be able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and deadline driven environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and has prior experience planning, developing, and executing outreach campaigns. Prior staff management experience preferred.
This position will be based in New Jersey.
Responsibilities:
·         Set and achieve program-wide, weekly, and daily campaign metrics
·         Produce performance reports on outreach efforts with proactive solutions for improving efforts
·         Recruit, onboard and train part-time staff on effective outreach and organizing techniques
·         Work with Operations and Data Director to keep staff accountable and track the organizations budget and spending
·         Keeping track of staff hours, performance, and improvement
·         Management of events – recruitment, set up, management, and clean-up
·         Build relationships with local community organizations, institutions, and businesses
·         Work with communication coordinator to identify strong voices to advocate publicly in support of more quality school choices
·         Assist in the development and execution of campaign plan that sets goals, establishes systems of accountability, and tracks progress-to goal

Requirements:
·         Significant experience running field operations (2-4 years)
·         Prior experience managing part-time staff and/or paid canvassing operations
·         Prior experience writing field plans, setting goals, and tracking progress toward these goals
·         Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written); particularly diverse audiences
·         Ability to work with people from all levels of an organization– e.g. political leaders – community members
·         Experience supporting, training, and managing staff
·         Strong attention to details and accuracy
·         Experience and familiarity with the following software/tools:
o   Microsoft Office Suite
o   Google Business Apps
o   Dropbox
·         Sense of humor and eagerness to contribute new ideas very important
·         Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure
·         Excellent management, strategic thinking, and planning skills
·         Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred (but not required) skills:
  • Experience with advocacy campaigns. You know how to power map a target, launch effective campaigns and win policy battles.
·         Tech savvy – Proficient in Excel use
·         Knowledge of New Jersey's political and community organizations

Education/Experience:
Candidates must have at least two cycles of electoral or advocacy campaigns experience. Experience with local government and basic knowledge New Jersey politics preferred.
