Field Organizer
Philadelphia mayoral campaign is currently seeking Field Organizers to work with our field program. Join our team of dedicated campaign staff looking to elect a mayor who will put the needs of Philadelphians first again.
Field
Organizers will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing
volunteers to expand the volunteer network for the campaign. Field
Organizers will manage and execute voter contact tactics such as phone
banks, canvasses, petition drives, and visibility events. In
addition to the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will
have good political instincts, extreme discipline, sense of humor, and
must be willing to work long campaign hours.
Responsibilities:
· Recruit, manage, and train volunteers to organize their communities/neighborhoods
· Manage voter contact activities including phone banks and canvassing
· Organize their turf based on its unique characteristics
· Identify and cultivate volunteer leadership
· Plan and execute events and training
· Build relationships with community leaders
· Timely and accurate data entry and reporting
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Previous campaign experience (as volunteer or paid staff) preferred but not required
· Exceptionally organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines
· Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
· Knowledge of VAN, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Docs
· Organizing mindset and can-do attitude
· Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and creatively problem-solve
· Strong interpersonal skills and team player
· Attention to detail
· High energy, outgoing, and enthusiastic personality
· Spanish language skills are a plus (but not required)
Applications are due ASAP for a January 2015 start date with additional positions opening up in February and March. Campaign lasts through Democratic primary in May 2015.
