The Racial Justice Program Coordinator is responsible for providing programmatic and administrative support for the development and implementation of CCC's newly created Racial Justice program.  S/he will work closely with the Immigration Rights & Racial Justice Director to support program work, to collaborate with existing organizational partnerships and to identify and develop new organizational relationships within the Racial Justice field.  The position will support existing CCC efforts around racial justice and will help to develop emerging strands of work. The Racial Justice Program Coordinator will be responsible for promoting a professional, organized, and collaborative atmosphere internally and with partner groups. S/he will work closely with various departments within CCC, including communications, policy, institutional advancement, organizing, and operations. The Coordinator will also work with external parties to coordinate major projects and events that require on-site support. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly organized, adept at coordinating, prioritizing, managing tasks, and following through; highly energetic and able to balance multiple competing priorities in a fast paced environment.

This position reports to: Director of Immigrant Rights and Racial Justice

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Director of Immigrant Rights and Racial Justice in building and advancing racial justice programming across the country.
  • Coordinates with field, policy, institutional advancement, communications, and operations staff to facilitate the racial justice work through various internal structures.
  • In coordination with the Director of Immigrant Rights and Racial Justice, manages the day-to-day needs of the racial justice program.
  • Performs various policy and communications research projects.
  • Conducts research to create, write, and edit various outreach, campaign, and training materials.
  • Monitors the Racial Justice project budget.
  • Coordinates the logistics of CCC's racial justice programs and campaigns.
  • Represents CCC in a professional manner with members and staff of CCC partners, allies, and funders.
  • Provides remote and on-site support for key organizational events and meetings; coordinate meetings, capture notes, lead conference calls, and travel.
  • Collaborates with existing and new partners around issues of racial justice, locally and nationally.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in program or campaign coordination.
  • Solid experience in program coordination, and facilitation and coordination of events.
  • Experience in conducting research and producing reports.
  • Experience and comfort working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience working with community-based, grassroots, and/or coalition organizations.
  • Knowledge of racial justice issues.
  • Familiarity with grassroots advocacy, at either the federal or state level, including experience with national campaigns to secure policy change.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and be able to work well under pressure.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work well with people at all levels both in and out of the organization.
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely and in a timely manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people of different cultures.
  • Ability to produce consistent, quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to CCC's mission and values.
