A Florida-based organization is launching an aggressive, targeted program to hold the right wing accountable in the country's perennial bellwether state. For this position, senior-level research experience is required, including the demonstrated ability to develop successful lines of attack and proactively manage rapid response projects.
A Florida-based organization is launching an aggressive, targeted program to hold the right wing accountable in the country's perennial bellwether state. For this position, senior-level research experience is required, including the demonstrated ability to develop successful lines of attack and proactively manage rapid response projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Skills and Qualifications:
- Work directly with the Communications team on creative, proactive press hits and rapid response;
- Lead brainstorming sessions to develop best plans of attack and identify key targets;
- Participate in collaborative War Room-style office environment;
- Produce timely research documents compiling information from public records, news clips, campaign finance reports, travel records, personal financial disclosures and research databases, as well as in-depth research analyzing state legislative and local governmental voting records;
- Conduct on-location research when necessary, requiring the willingness to travel on short notice
- Previous political campaign research experience required, with preferably two cycles of experience working with opposition research, rapid response or similar experience;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
- Self-motivation, the ability to work independently and to anticipate and prevent problems;
- Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines a must;
- Strong commitment to teamwork and thinking outside the box;
- Experience with Lexis-Nexis, public records requests, analyzing primary source documents, commonly-used research databases and other basic opposition research tasks required
