We are hiring a Development Assistant to work closely with the Director of Development, the Senior Development Associate, and top health policy experts to build a comprehensive, high-performing development program. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing fundraising team at one of the country's leading advocacy organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Support the work of the Senior Director of Development, the Grants Manager, and the Senior Development Associate.
- Maintain and update information on donors and foundations using the Salesforce database system.
- Complete research profiles on potential individual and institutional donors.
- Produce and communicate reports on the organization's fundraising progress.
- Write updates on development work for Families USA staff.
- Ensure that gifts are correctly processed and that all donors receive gift acknowledgments in a timely manner.
- Assist the department staff with completing other projects and duties as needed.

- Strong writing, editing, organizational, and communication skills
- Versatile skill set and a willingness to play many roles and learn new skills
- Diplomatic, professional, and mature manner with colleagues, prospects, and donors
- The ability to work individually and as part of a team
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, motivated office environment
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- A bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Some experience with and/or knowledge of fundraising operations helpful
