FINANCE DIRECTOR
Maine Senate Democratic Campaign Committee
The Maine Senate Democratic Campaign Committee (SDCC) is a full-time political organization dedicated to building a Democratic Majority in the Maine Senate. We are seeking applicants for Finance Director to run an aggressive fundraising operation to help us gain the majority in 2016.
The Finance Director will be a critical component to ensure a successful finance operation. The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: working with directly with the Caucus Director and members of the committee to maximize the finance plan, manage fundraising programs, implement reporting structure, and coordinate events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- · Work with the Caucus Director and leadership to create and execute a winning fundraising plan for the SDCC. Establish quarterly, monthly, and weekly fundraising goals and outline how they will be reached.
- · Support Senators and Senate candidates to create and execute successful fundraising operations.
- · Provide donor research, call lists, scripts and staff support to member call time. Manage follow up on all correspondence and pledges.
- · Build on existing donor database by identifying and recruiting new donors.
- · Plan and execute fundraising events.
- · Oversee compliance and prepare disclosure reports in cooperation with SDCC treasurer.
- · Recruit and supervise interns/volunteers to assist with data entry and other tasks.
- · Work with Caucus Director to develop robust online fundraising program.
- · Other duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- · Possess strong communication and organizational skills.
- · Good time management skills.
- · Attention to detail.
- · Ability to work with variety of personalities.
- · 1+ years of fundraising experience on a campaign preferred.
- · Strong computer skills; significant excel & NGP experience.
- · Ideal candidates will have experience in all aspects of finance operations including call time, events, mail, online, phone, finance committee, and compliance.
Pay and benefits are commensurate with experience. Must be comfortable with long, irregular hours, and frequent travel.
