Job Opportunity:
The Ohio Democratic Party has an immediate opening for the Ohio Democratic Women's Caucus and Constituency Director. We are seeking an energetic, experienced organizer who can educate, empower and energize Democratic women and women's groups, as well as other official ODP caucuses, in order to increase their leadership within Democratic politics and mobilize them to elect Democratic candidates.
The focus of this position is to 1) oversee all ODWC programs, plans, and organizing activities; 2) facilitate statewide and regional communication, networking, and educational opportunities; 3) support other caucus groups and leaders; and 4) assist in efforts to recruit and train women and a more diverse set of candidates to run for elected office.
This position is located in Columbus, Ohio, and requires significant travel throughout the state. This position reports directly to the Director of Party Engagement in coordination with the ODWC Chair.
Qualifications:
- Grassroots organizing experience, with an emphasis on mobilizing and supporting members and volunteers;
- Willingness to solicit money to support caucus programming and some experience organizing or staffing small dollar fundraising events;
- Demonstrated experience as a proactive, innovative, self-motivated organizer, problem solver and team leader who takes initiative and works independently to create desired results in a fast-paced environment;
- A strong commitment to diversity, inclusion and Democratic values;
- Excellent verbal, writing and analytical skills – the ability to speak persuasively in a charged atmosphere;
- Effective computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (administrative experience beyond minimum required) VoteBuilder and Blue State Digital a plus
- Travel and weekend hours required
