Job Opening: Regional Field Director
Mainers for Accountable Elections is seeking full-time Regional Field Directors to join the 2015 ballot campaign. Regional Field Directors are responsible for all day-to-day field operations within their region, including managing Field Organizers, achieving goals, tailoring statewide plans to regional needs, and ensuring a win at the ballot in November as they oversee the development and growth of our volunteer infrastructure. Regional Field Directors will report to the Campaign Field Director, Robert Booth, and will be based in either the 1st or 2nd congressional district.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing and training a team of Field Organizers and overseeing field offices;
- Coaching Field Organizers to create and maintain a productive and robust volunteer infrastructure;
- Implementing systems of accountability to ensure that regional goals are consistently met
- Executing the state field plan within your region;
- Coordinating regional events and volunteer trainings on a local level;
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with political stakeholders, allied organizations, and other coordinated partners;
- Hiring Field Organizers and providing ongoing training throughout the cycle
Skills and Qualification:
- One to two cycles of campaign experience, preferably with at least one cycle as a field organizer;
- Strong leadership skills and commitment to developing a strong and supportive team culture;
- Experience meeting goals and holding others accountable;
- Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to work extremely long hours, including nights, and weekends, in a fast-paced environment;
- Personal experience with developing volunteer leadership and teams;
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure;
- Familiarity with the VAN and other campaign technology;
- Valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle.
