The Organizing and Electoral Campaigns (OEC) department of PPFA has an opportunity for a temporary Affordable Care Act (ACA) Campaign SpecialistReporting to the National Director, Organizing and Electoral Campaigns, the chosen candidate will manage the ACA campaign within the Organizing and Electoral Campaign department focused on:

·         Program integration and execution

·         Coordination internally and externally

·         Budget Management

·         Vendor Management

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Organize and lead a multi-faceted, multilayered outreach and education effort, which includes providing strategic resources and tools for the 59 Planned Parenthood affiliates
  • Integrate online program elements (microsite content, email, social media, text) on the ground outreach activities (events, canvassing, etc), and media outreach activities
  • Manage multiple vendors responsible for various components of the work
  • Coordinate with numerous internal PPFA departments in NY and DC offices (Communications, Digital, OEC, Strategic Partnerships, Public Policy) including leading weekly meetings for team leaders and ensuring teams stay on track and meet key deadlines
  • Develop training schedule and prepare training materials for webinars and in person trainings for affiliate staff
  • Draft affiliate correspondence and toolkit materials (such as grant proposal templates).
  • Represent Planned Parenthood at coalition partner meetings including coordinating with key partners on shared resources
  • Collaborate with other PPFA departments to mobilize grassroots activities, develop messages and achieve desired goals.
  • Completes special projects as assigned and required.

 


  EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

 

·         Bachelors degree preferred

·         At least two-three years of issue(s) based organizing experience required

·         Experience as a Planned Parenthood staff member or volunteer leaders desired

·         Integrity, independent thinking, and personal courage

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS / EXPERTISE

 

·         Outstanding communication skills (written, spoken, presentation)

·         Experienced campaign worker with realistic understanding and commitment to  campaign time and effort(s)

·         Experience managing one program or large project required

·         Familiarity with the ACA and in particular organizing best practices and processes  

 

TRAVEL

 

·         10-15%
