The T-Mobile Campaign at the Communications Workers of America (CWA) is hiring an experienced, self-motivated Digital Media Associate.
We seek an experienced, energetic and creative professional who can overcome obstacles and work in a fast paced campaign environment. A strong candidate must have excellent writing, design and social media management skills, the ability to develop and conduct comprehensive online advocacy campaigns and manage the campaign's digital communications platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop online campaigns, including crafting concise and compelling emails, petitions, SMS, etc.
Maintain the campaign's social media accounts
Design leaflets and other campaign materials
Develop strategies to identify and connect with supporters and activists through social media
Identify organizing leads online
Develop methods and metrics for measuring the growth and effectiveness of the campaign's digital strategies and platforms
Identify and test new social media tools to improve on digital communication
Conduct training on how to use social media effectively in campaigns
Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
At least 5 years of demonstrated campaign experience in digital media advocacy work
Demonstrated commitment to economic and social justice and the labor movement
Strong and proven persuasive writing skills demonstrated by samples of online campaign writing. Ability to quickly edit staff's work to create copy with an authentic voice that resonates with our audiences.
Proficiency in Photoshop and Microsoft Office
Strong analytical skills
Experience in effective use of Internet communications tools
Experience in managing social media networks, incl. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Tumblr, etc.
Experience placing and optimizing online advertising, especially on Facebook and Search Engine Marketing
Experience working with ActionNetwork, Wordpress, Mobile Commons a plus
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop and PHP a plus
Experience researching online behavior for demographic groups and knowledge of resources available to enhance data for micro-targeting
Experience in list-building efforts on various platforms
Knowledge of building online audiences and communities
Understanding of issues facing communities of color, women, and low-and moderate-income families
Excellent time-management and organizational skills, and must be able to multitask and prioritize
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, while being able to take initiative
Ability to work long and extended hours when needed
DIRECTION AND DECISION MAKING
The Digital Media Associate reports to the Senior Campaign Coordinator.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
The duration of the project is at least 1 year. The position is based in Washington, DC. A good benefits package is provided. The position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
