Marketing & Communications Director
Grassroots Campaigns is seeking an experienced, ambitious candidate to build our client roster, and help our firm expand within our existing operations, as well as expand into new areas of services. The Marketing and Communications Director will be responsible for our overall partner outreach strategy, expanding our political presence, and growing the types of campaigns we operate. This Director is part of the senior management team.
Qualifications: Candidates will need a strong work ethic, initiative and a dedication to progressive issues. We're looking for someone has the ability to network in a variety of social and work environments, and has good public speaking and presenting skills. Potential partner groups have varying styles and settings, and the Marketing and Communications Director will need to be flexible and effective in all such settings. Marketing or communications experience, and familiarity with canvassing and electoral campaigns preferred. Travel is required and 5+ years of experience is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute a partnership outreach and visibility strategy.
• Expand outreach materials.
• Reach out to and meet with prospective partner organizations and campaigns. Book campaign work.
• Work with our project managers and operational staff to develop project proposals for potential clients.
• Train and mentor other Grassroots Campaigns staff in networking and outreach.
• Represent Grassroots Campaigns to groups, campaigns, and political leaders, including attending conferences, strategy sessions, and coalition meetings.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key players in national, state, and local political and nonprofit organizations.
• Regularly report on contacts, progress towards networking goals, and overall landscape. Expect a high level of rigor in tracking performance vs. goals.
• Work with our project managers and operational staff to develop project proposals for potential clients.
• Train and mentor other Grassroots Campaigns staff in networking and outreach.
• Participate in our organizational meetings and staff trainings.

Grassroots Campaigns is a progressive political consulting firm that specializes in running on-the-ground field operations for progressive organizations, candidates, and parties, as well as advocacy groups and charities. Our services include but are not limited to: small donor fundraising and membership drives, volunteer organizing, field organizing, petition drives, grassroots advocacy, voter registration, voter education and turnout. Current and former clients include: Democratic National Committee, Planned Parenthood, etc.
