Description

Regional Campaign Directors will serve as campaign managers for our top targeted State Senate candidates through the 2016 general election cycle. Responsibilities include senior level strategic planning, candidate management and support, administering a successful finance program, building effective field and volunteer capacity, leveraging team of campaign consultants, managing outreach with ally organizations, grassroots activists and elected officials, handling press relations. A critical component of this job is effectively managing staff and volunteers to support the demands of the campaign. The position will require regional and statewide travel.

 

Initial Responsibilities

 

      Direct and manage all aspects of 2016 targeted State Senate Campaign

      Working with central SSDC staff, write and execute winning finance, field, media plans

      In conjunction with consultant team, develop, test, and maintain campaign messaging

      Manage political relationships including with local leaders, volunteers, ally organizations

      Work with current and prospective volunteers to execute aggressive direct voter contact plan

      Handle local and statewide press relationships and administer successful social/earned media

 

Additional responsibilities for the position:

 

      Manage candidate schedule

      Staff the candidate at all events, in call-time, and act as their surrogate

      Manage and develop on-the-ground staff

      Outreach to key constituency groups

      Work effectively with other Democratic candidates and campaigns

      Draft fundraising solicitations and other campaign communications

      Regularly report campaign progress to central SSDC staff

 

Qualifications

 

      Minimum 1-2 cycle senior/deputy campaign experience.

      Excellent organizational and time management skills

      Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills

      A valid US driver's license, and access to reliable, insured transportation

      Proficiency with NGP, VAN, Excel, Social Media Platforms.
