Position: Field Organizer, Raise Up Washington


About Raise Up Washington

Raise Up Washington is a coalition of union, faith, business and community organizations working to pass Initiative 1433 this November to raise the statewide minimum wage to $13.50 over four years by 2020 and allow every working Washingtonian to earn paid sick and safe leave. Together, we can lift up families and boost our economy so workers and businesses have the opportunity to thrive.

Raise Up Washington is looking for Field Organizers to join our team. Field Organizers are the face of the campaign, representing Raise Up Washington in communities throughout the state, working with local businesses, managing volunteers in our day-to-day efforts of voter registration and Get-Out-The-Vote to ensure a victory for working Washingtonians this November.


Organizers job responsibilities include

  • Recruiting, managing and training volunteers who will communicate with voters about Initiative 1433

  • Implementing Get-Out-The-Vote efforts in your area, primarily through phone banking and doorbelling

  • Maintain and manage campaign information in online database

  • Represent the campaign by planning and attending events, doing outreach with local

    businesses and engaging local community groups

Qualified candidates will have a combination of the following:
  • Experience coordinating volunteers and/or community organizing experience (paid, volunteer, or internship)

  • Ability to work efficiently and positively in an action-oriented, fast-paced office

  • Excellent team player fully dedicated to meeting demanding campaign goals and

    deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; good sense of humor with staff,

    volunteers, and public

  • A valid driver's license, reliable car, and the ability to work evening and weekend hours
