Political Operations Coordinator
Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund are hiring a staff person to fill the role of Political Operations Coordinator for the Organizing and Electoral Campaigns Department.

Primary Function/Position Summary:
This position will provide operational support within the Organizing and Electoral Campaign department, specifically around senior staff administrative support, budget management, contract and grant management, and event planning. This position will support and execute programs as assigned to support the overall goals of the team. The ideal candidate is high-energy, thrives in a fast-paced work environment, learns quickly, can think on their feet, has a strong commitment to racial and gender equity, and a passion for social change. Must be able to multitask between operations, event planning, and organizing work.

The primary duties of this role include:
  • Serve as the primary operations liaison and direct administrative support to the Organizing and Electoral Campaigns department
  • Provide administrative support to the Organizing Operations Manager
  • Administer contract(s) processes including requesting and executing contracts and grants as well as document management
  • Managing budget processes for the Organizing and Electoral Campaigns department, across programs and multiple funding streams/entities, and providing technical assistance to department staff not limited to expense tracking, payment processing for grants and contracts, and financial reconciliation
  • Assisting with internal communications regarding field activities, including reports, newsletters, and updates to senior staff
  • Planning and executing logistics for large scale organizing events and campaigns across multiple departments and Planned Parenthood affiliates including conferences, lobby days, actions, and retreats

Qualifications include:
  • At least one cycle of electoral campaign experience or community or issue based organizing experience required
  • Experience as a Planned Parenthood staff member or volunteer leader preferred 

Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of professional or organizing experience
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) skills 

Preferred:
  • Budget management experience
  • Event planning and management experience
  • Ability to work independently with good judgement
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to learn and execute quickly
