Fundraiser
LOCATION: Knoxville, TN (preferred)
SALARY: $36,000-48,000
HOURS: 40+ (part-time option available)
Brand New Congress is running a nationwide distributed self-serve volunteer campaign to take advantage of our wide volunteer network and have the biggest effect possible for our campaigns on the ground. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser who can manage and grow our online fundraising to build our national organization
DUTIES:
Communicate BNC's message through targeted fundraising emails and other online platforms.
Design and implement a digital grassroots fundraising strategy.
Set ambitious fundraising goals, track and improve fundraising metrics across multiple platforms.
NEEDS:
Experience with grassroots fundraising. Our support comes from a diverse network of supporters across the country and around the world. Our fundraiser should be comfortable speaking and building relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and sustaining a community of donors, supporters, and volunteers.
Strong writing skills. Our fundraiser will be drafting regular communications and messages for multiple platforms, and they must be able to write clearly and compellingly.
Solid communication skills. Grassroots fundraising is about more than the money - it's about the people. Having a skill for building relationships and developing trust will be critical to success in this position.
Hard worker and quick learner with a good sense of humor and a positive attitude (obviously).
Flexibility. Brand New Congress is about the team and the mission, so keep in mind that there is a need for flexibility in direction. Especially in relation to Candidate and Nominee Teams, things change fast.
SKILLS:
Basic Tech Savvy. Fundraiser will need to manage a digital supporter list, track contributions, and maintain consistent follow-up systems.
An ability to pivot plans effectively and efficiently. Brand New Congress is a fast paced organization, where we may get new information events may necessitate rapid-response fundraising drives or pivots in messaging.
