HIRING DEMOCRATIC CAMPAIGN FUNDRAISING STAFF IN SAN DIEGO

Democrat Omar Passons is running for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, Fourth District, in 2018.  He is now hiring full-time Campaign Fundraising Staff.

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors is a five-person board that is the county's legislative body, with some executive and sometimes judicial capacity.

Omar attended Morehouse College and graduated from the University of Arizona, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and a Masters of Public Health. He also holds a law degree from George Mason University Law School.  Omar has a deep history of service and leadership at every level of the San Diego community, inspired by his own challenging experiences as a child raised within the foster care system.  

Omar has served as a neighborhood association President in the San Diego community of North Park, and has helped address regional issues on the boards of Voices for Children, United Way of San Diego County, the San Diego Workforce Partnership and Rachel's Women's Center. He is deeply committed to opportunity for children from birth to adulthood. 

Having represented businesses and public entities as a private sector lawyer, Omar understands the importance of consistent, easy-to-follow regulations for responsibly building homes, growing businesses, and creating opportunity. Omar believes that progressive policy and a prosperous local business community can and should go hand-in-hand.

Prior campaign and fundraising experience is not required for this position.  This job would be an excellent opportunity for recent college/law school graduates and others who are interested in pursuing a career in politics or looking for a once in a lifetime experience.




Responsibilities include:

  • Traveling and working directly with the Candidate
  • Organizing and coordinating fundraising events
  • Compiling and analyzing data, research
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans


Applicants for this position must:

  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be able to write clearly and concisely
  • Be able to balance and prioritize multiple projects
  • Have proven organizational skills
  • Be personable and enjoy working with others
  • Be comfortable communicating on the telephone
  • Ideally, have NGP or other database experience
