Kevin Abel is running for Congress in the 6th Congressional District in Georgia.

Kevin is founder, past president and currently serves on the Board of 
Directors of Abel Solutions, a company he founded in 1995 with his wife, Cindy. Prior to forming Abel, Kevin was a project manager with BellSouth Entertainment in Atlanta and a senior consultant with the Advanced 
Systems Group at Andersen Consulting in Dallas, Texas.

A native of South Africa, he came to the United States with his family in 1979. He then attended the University of Texas at Austin, where Kevin received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1987.

Abel serves on the Board of Directors of Refugee Resettlement & 
Immigration Services of Atlanta and the Board of Directors for The Davis Academy.  He is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Atlanta.  A former finalist for the Atlanta Small Business Person of the Year Award, he was also
previously named to the Georgia Trend 40 under 40 list.  Abel is a past Chairman of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council and a former member of the Board of the Arthritis Foundation (Georgia Chapter) and the Board of Councilors for The Carter Center.



Kevin's campaign is now hiring fundraising staff.  Prior campaign and fundraising experience is not required.  This job would be an excellent opportunity for recent college/law school graduates and others who are interested in pursuing a career in Democratic politics or looking for a once in a lifetime experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Traveling and working directly with Kevin
  • Organizing and coordinating fundraising events
  • Compiling and analyzing data, research
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans

  • Be able to write clearly and concisely
  • Be able to balance and prioritize multiple projects
  • Have proven organizational skills
  • Be personable and enjoy working with others
  • Be comfortable communicating on the telephone
  • Ideally, have database experience
