Former science teacher, organizer and progressive is running for Congress with one ultimate goal: Increasing voter turnout. This will not be your typical Congressional campaign. The focus will be on community engagement, voter education (on issues such as gerrymandering, corporate money in politics, Medicare-for-all, among other progressive issues), registration and participation for a June 12th primary. Previous congressional campaign manager experience is desired along with a willingness to be flexible and creative to design and operate a grassroots campaign unlike any other.
The Campaign Manager will be responsible for:
- Working directly with the candidate to develop and implement campaign strategy that aligns with values of inclusivity, sustainability, and authenticity.
- Working with Finance Director to ensure compliance and health of budget
- Draft and send campaign communications including press releases.
- Help manage candidate schedule, events, and call time.
- Recruit and manage interns and additional campaign staff.
- Coordinate ballot access/petitions with the candidate.
- Coordinate endorsement processes and draft questionnaires when necessary.
- Other duties and tasks will arise.
+ Passion for progressive causes, speaking truth to power and a sense of humor will be vital.
This is a full-time position located in Fairfax, VA. Applicants must be local or willing to relocate. Hours will vary with personal sustainability remaining a priority.
