Deputy Finance Director
OVERVIEW OF JOB
A Democratic incumbent in the western Chicago suburbs seeks a qualified individual to fill a Deputy Finance Director position. This position will work closely with the candidate and campaign manager, and will have the opportunity to grow into the finance director role. Qualified applicants will have strong computer skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and be familiar with political fundraising. Strong applicants will have at least one cycle of staff level experience working for a Democratic candidate, State Party, or allied organization in a fundraising capacity.
DUTIES OF POSITION
Work with event hosts to create, promote and manage the development of fundraising events.
Manage candidate call time.
Draft and distribute fundraising materials, including invitations for events and updates to Finance Committee.
Staff fundraising events with the candidate and prepare necessary materials.
Research prospective donors.
Manage finance staff, and interns.
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Previous campaign fundraising experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and NGP preferred.
Superb verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in a fast-paced campaign atmosphere.
Superb organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage several tasks/projects at the same time.
Ability to work long (campaign) hours, including nights and weekends.
