BerlinRosen, a leading progressive strategic communications firm, is seeking a Senior Vice President to help lead our growing Washington, DC office, expand the business and help issue advocacy and public affairs clients meet a wide range of campaign and communications goals.

BerlinRosen makes an impact on some of the most critical issues facing our world. On health care, energy and the environment, transportation, women's issues, human rights and more, we work with leading advocacy organizations and brands to influence policy, shape narratives and make change. We are storytellers, campaigners and organizers skilled at helping our clients tell their stories, get heard and make a difference for a better world.

This position provides candidates with a unique opportunity to play a senior role leading a talented and growing team working with high-profile national organizations and companies on a diverse set of progressive issues. This position requires 8-10 years of relevant experience bringing in and managing clients, leading communications strategy and campaigns, and managing people. Excellent writing skills are a must.

This position reports to Stephanie Mueller, Executive Vice President of the Issue Advocacy practice of BerlinRosen's National division.

Applicants should possess:

  • Demonstrated staff management experience and leadership skill
  • Highest level of expertise in campaign, communications or public affairs strategy
  • Proven ability to originate and bring in new business
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • News and political savvy and deep knowledge of the media
  • High-level media relations skills and demonstrated relationships with national reporters
  • Command of digital strategy
  • Demonstrated issue experience in at least one BerlinRosen issue areas
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of company staff, clients, contractors and the media
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree or experience in a communications-related field
  • A sense of humor
