Congressional campaign seeking Field Organizers in a highly competitive Southern California race ranked in the top 5 red-to-blues of 2018. Field Organizers are responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers on a daily basis. Organizers will also conduct direct voter contact in the community in addition to recruiting and overseeing volunteers. Meeting goals and communicating with the Field Director is an integral part of the job.
Responsibilities include:
- Recruiting, training, and organizing volunteers
- Participating in the field program to energize voters in the district
- Representing the campaign at outreach events and community club meetings
- Meeting weekly goals to ensure success of the field program
This position is extremely goal and metric oriented, while the ability to speak with and train people both one-on-one and in groups is essential as well.
The ideal applicant has the following:
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including weekends
- Experience on a political campaign or community organizing is preferred but not required
Applicants must have:
- A driver's license and access to a reliable car
- A working cell phone and laptop
Applicants must also be willing to relocate to Southern California.
