Overview
The Amendment 2 ballot initiative campaign seeks qualified, bi-partisan and non-partisan individuals to serve as Regional Coordinators throughout Florida. Regional Coordinators serve a variety of functions, from field work to community liaison, and are responsible for building and organizing a coherent statewide infrastructure to ensure passage of Amendment 2. This is not an entry-level position.
Position and Responsibilities
Regional Coordinators are employed by Amendment 2 and report to the Coalitions & Political Director and Campaign Manager. This is a full-time, salaried position through Election Day, 2018. A Regional Coordinator should expect to work long, irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Travel throughout a region and occasionally the state is necessary. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Implementation of a field program
Direct voter contact
Data and database management
Volunteer recruitment and management
Coalition building
Outreach to current and former elected officials
Community networking and outreach
Establish and maintain partner relationships
Public speaking
Research
Administrative tasks and weekly reporting
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualified candidates for this position are highly organized and able to remain on task remotely. They display calm under pressure and are able to work with a wide variety of personalities and people under demanding circumstances. They are interested in electoral politics and Florida connections are preferred. Interested candidates of all parties, ethnicities, genders and backgrounds are encouraged to apply, with the following skills and qualifications preferred:
At least one cycle of experience in electoral politics or on campaigns
Field experience highly desired
Ability to speak in front of groups in various formats
Professional demeanor and comfort in social situations
A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Access to a personal vehicle and valid Florida driver's license
Spanish-language proficiency highly desired
Experience with voter databases
Proficiency in Excel, Word and Google Docs
Ability to work remotely and remain on task
Ability to meet deadlines and goals
Willingness to take direction from senior staff
Experience in community/coalition building
Willingness to live in an assigned region of Florida
