The Liuba Grechen Shirley for Congress campaign is hiring Field Organizers to assist in running an aggressive grassroots field program to flip New York's 2nd Congressional District. This is a compact district covering parts of two counties on Long Island about an hour outside of New York City. Our candidate is a 4th generation Long Islander, a grassroots community organizer, and has nearly two decades of experience in international development. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are dedicated to helping elect Democrats and flip the House in a DCCC-targeted race.
Role Overview
Field Organizers will work with the Field Director to implement a comprehensive Field Plan focused on aggressive grassroots organizing. Field Organizers who will be on the front lines of the campaign interfacing directly with voters and volunteers. Field Organizers should be detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and willing to work long hours. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are required. Prior experience with Vote Builder is preferred Field Organizers will report to the Field Director.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Including, but not limited to:
Assist the Field Director in the implementation of the field plan.
Recruit, train, and manage teams of volunteers.
Work with volunteers and community stakeholders to run successful direct voter contact events.
Execute the campaign's Get Out the Vote plan.
Help create and inclusive and welcoming work culture that is representative of NY-02.
Required Skills & Background
Exceptionally well organized, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
Must have access to a vehicle and a cellphone.
Preferred Skills
Fluency in Spanish
