SUMMARY:
Seeking a full-time Field Organizer(s) to help plan and execute multiple paid canvasses targeting November 2018 Congressional and local races for the ACLU of Northern California.
The Trump administration has brought unprecedented and deliberate attacks on our civil liberties. In reaction to this current political climate, the ACLU feels an urgent need to expand beyond legal defense to voter education. With this, the ACLU seeks increase voter turnout, voter education, and pressure all candidates on the issues most affecting people today.
ROLE:
The Field Organizer will play a key role on the campaign team. This position will work with the Field Director to spearhead voter mobilization and engagement throughout the Central Valley. Moreover, the field organizer will be responsible for managing a specific region and its volunteers/paid canvassers. The Field Organizer will report directly to the Field Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the Field Director to ensure all daily, weekly, and long-term goals are met consistently
Organizing canvasses
Execution of the field plan in their assigned region
Recruiting, training, scheduling, and following up with all canvassers
Ensuring that canvassers maintain accurate and reliable voter data
Daily reporting to the Field Director
Communicating all important on-the-ground information to the Field Director
REQUIREMENTS:
One to two cycles of Field Organizer experience.
Ability to work long, irregular campaign hours including weekends
Proficiency with VAN, L2, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Excel
Strong canvassing and training skills
Excellent recruiting skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in (sometimes chaotic) team settings
Strong commitment to social justice and equity
Salary:
- Compensation will be $4,500-$5,500 a month. We are looking to hire immediately and this position would run until the November election.
