Overview:
GQR has an opening for a paid internship in our Washington, DC office focusing on domestic political issues. This internship runs for four months with a 40-hour per week minimum work expectation.
GQR is seeking a hardworking digital native to fill a Digital Strategy Intern position supporting the GQR Team in Washington, D.C. This opening has immense potential for growth, customization, and full-time employment based on the incoming intern's experience, interests, and ambition.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in and basic understanding of political campaign cycles, be skilled in the field of graphic design and be extremely comfortable utilizing social media. Any candidates with skills in social network analysis and/or social media analytics (especially data mining in R) are highly encouraged to apply.
The ability to work quickly, accurately and creatively under tight timelines and high pressure, with outstanding attention to detail is critical. Applicants must be able to commit to a full-time work schedule that may include night and weekend hours.
Responsibilities:
The Digital Intern will assist with the following:
- Graphic design
- Data visualization and analytics
- Social listening and social network analysis
- Online advertising (from idea to design to placement)
- Social media marketing
- Administrative tasks
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word required
- Intermediate proficiency in graphic design, social media platforms, and Adobe Photoshop
- Experience with coding in R or Python, especially to perform social media analysis is huge a plus
- Fluency in one or more language outside of English is ideal, but not required
