Political Intern, 314 Action
314 Action, the nation's largest organization dedicated to electing scientists, seeks a Political Intern to begin immediately, as well as for the spring/summer. 314's Political Interns will get the opportunity to work closely with scientists running for office, especially at the state/local level and will also work alongside staff to assist in the candidate recruitment process. This is a great opportunity for exposure inside the operations of a national political organization. Interns will be well positioned for work on a campaign or with a political organization in the near future.
About 314 Action
314 Action is a new organization dedicated to scientific advocacy as well as recruiting, training and electing candidates with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) backgrounds to all levels of public office. In the November elections, 314 Action's scientists lead the charge to take back the House, with 9 wins for crucial House and Senate races. We raised over $5 million in the 2018 election cycle and plan to expand our operations on a much wider scale for 2020. 314 Action was recently featured in the New York Times and HBO's Vice News Tonight recently covered our first cycle.
We are accepting applications for WINTER/SPRING/SUMMER 2019 internships. We ask for a time commitment of at least 15 hours a week for winter/spring internships and at least 20 hours in the summer.
Interns will be provided with stipends for transportation, and we are happy to work with interns to secure academic credit for their work. The position is based our Washington, DC office located near Metro Center.
