We are seeking innovative and collaborative Deputy Organizing Directors to join our statewide caucus organizing program! Deputy Organizing Directors will work directly with the Iowa Organizing Director to develop our statewide caucus plan, hire and train Regional Organizing Directors and Organizers, and ultimately build a successful volunteer-infrastructure to persuade caucus-goers to support Governor Bullock in the 2020 Democratic caucuses!
Below are some of the qualities we're looking for in each of our Deputy Organizing Directors!
- Commitment to pursuing the highest-quality work and a steadfast respect for the communities we organize
- Superior systems management, with an openness to learning tools like Google Drive and Votebuilder
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate well with staff at all management levels
- Natural solutions-minded outlook, a creative problem-solver who isn't afraid to adapt to life on a campaign
- Deep love of training staff & volunteer leaders, who are the most important people on our campaign team
Deputy Organizing Directors' responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Coaching and communicating with Regional Organizing Directors on behalf of state leadership team
- Develop field plan with Iowa Organizing Director and hold ROD's accountable to assigned benchmarks
- Collaborate with Training Team on organizing trainings to ensure optimal staff & volunteer proficiency
- Liaison with organizing-adjacent teams (including Iowa Operations, Political, Digital, and Communications
- departments) in order to best support organizing program development and overall data quality
- Overseeing guest sign-in and data collection for assigned public organizing events with Governor Bullock
Here are some job specifics to know before you send in your application:
- This is not an entry level position, so staff management experience is a plus!
- Position includes health care and in-state travel reimbursement
- Staff receive a monthly cell-phone stipend to offset costs from using their personal phone for work calls
