We are seeking an innovative and interdisciplinary Training + Development Director to join our statewide caucus organizing program! The Training + Development Director will work directly with the Iowa Organizing Director to develop the statewide staff and volunteer training curriculum, oversee campaign's internal and public caucus education, and ultimately prepare the best-trained volunteer infrastructure possible to persuade caucus-goers to support Governor Steve Bullock in the 2020 Democratic nominating process!
Below are some of the qualities we're looking for in our Training + Development Director!
- Deep love of training organizers and volunteers, through both tried-and-true and creative new methods
- Commitment to pursuing the highest-quality work and a steadfast respect for the communities we organize
- Superior systems management, with an openness to learning tools like Google Drive and Votebuilder
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate well with staff at all management levels
- Natural solutions-minded outlook, a creative problem-solver who isn't afraid to adapt to life on a campaign
Training + Development Director's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Conceptualize, develop, and implement statewide training program alongside Iowa Organizing Director
- Monitor staff and volunteer organizing proficiency in conjunction with Regional Organizing Directors
- Organize quarterly staff trainings, weekly in-region sessions, and regular digital volunteer trainings
- Liaison with organizing-adjacent teams (including Iowa Operations, Political, Digital, and Communications
- departments) in order to best support organizing program and overall staff/volunteer development

- Campaign employment includes health care and in-state travel reimbursement
- Staff receive a monthly cell-phone stipend to offset costs from using their personal phone for work calls
