A great organization called Advocates for Youth is hiring a new Associate Director who will be in charge of youth organizing, and especially abortion organizing work, including their leadership development programs for Young Women of Color. Advocates for Youth works with young people (ages 14-24) to empower them to be advocates for reproductive justice, ending abortion stigma, comprehensive sex ed, and other sexual health and rights work. They're extremely progressive, and are looking to add this person to their team of organizers.
The Associate Director of Youth Organizing will help expand, engage, and mobilize Advocates' vast network of Youth Activists, directly manage the work of the Young Women of Color Leadership Programs, and supervise two youth organizing program staff by assisting them to define program goals; create budgets; and plan, implement and assess activities to mobilize young leaders across the country.
Paying $70-$80k a year, they're looking for someone with 2 years of supervisory experience, and 3-5 years of organizing experience, including strong familiarity with theory of change, power mapping, direct action tactics, and base building techniques. A strong racial justice analysis and a deep commitment to the tenets of Reproductive Justice is a must.
